A common non-ferrous structural material in industry is aluminum alloy. Aluminum alloy servo motor housing has metal texture, light weight, simple production, and simple surface treatment. It is more premium and high-end compared to plastic casings. One significant benefit that makes for widespread deployment is the simplicity of heat dissipation. The aviation, aerospace, automation, robotics, automotive, equipment manufacturing, shipbuilding, and other sectors all make extensive use of servo motor housings. How can the servo motor casing be evaluated for quality?
(1) Examine the level of oxidation: Before buying, softly scratch the raw profile's surface to see if the oxide coating can be removed. Wipe off indicates material is in good condition with slight oxidation.
(2) Gloss: When picking a servo motor housing, stay away from models that have holes, deformation, bubbles, ash, fractures, deep drawing marks, burrs, material lines, or peeling on the surface. If the aforementioned occurrence happens, it may be concluded that the production of profile molds or the subsequent processing of scrap aluminum or recycled aluminum are subpar.
(3) Chromaticity: The aluminum shell often has a silvery white cross-section, and the overall color should be very homogeneous. It can generally be said that recycled aluminum or scrap aluminum for forging is present if the color difference is visible or the color is darker, in which case the item shouldn't be bought.
(4) Check the thickness. For aluminum profiles in the 70.90 series, which are often used, the wall thickness should be between 1.2 and 2.0 mm. The national norm for aluminum profile wall thickness is 1.2mm.
(5) Consider the strength: When buying, you can bend the shell with appropriate force. If you can bend the shell easily, you can be sure that the strength of the aluminum profile does not meet the standard. But the higher the strength does not mean the better the profile. Because aluminum has a certain toughness and non-hard material. Only by utilizing this quality can we create various forms, thus when purchasing, we must search for the brand and carefully note that too soft and too firm are disqualified.
(6) Examine the flatness: Look for any depressions or protrusions on the servo motor housing's surface. Regular producers produced an aluminum shell with a smooth and brilliant surface. The surface of the shell may be slightly uneven in a small factory or workshop owing to machinery or raw materials, and this aluminum alloy shell is easily oxidized and deformed later on.
