The majority of steel processing involves applying pressure, which causes processed steel (billets, ingots, etc.) to be plastically deformed. Steel may be processed at two different temperatures: cold working and hot working. Custom made steel parts are processed primarily using:
1. Rolling: the pressure processing technique of lowering the material section and expanding the length owing to the compression of the rolls, involves passing the steel metal billet through the space between a pair of spinning rolls (different shapes). This is the production method of steel production. It is mostly used to make steel plates, pipelines, and profiles. categorized as hot rolling and cold rolling.
2. Forging steel is a pressure-processing technique that transforms the blank into the desired shape and size by using the reciprocating impact force of the forging hammer or the pressure of the press. It is frequently used to make materials with high cross-sectional dimensions, such as huge steel bars and billets, and is typically classified into two categories: free forging and die forging.
3. Pulling steel: To lower the cross section and extend the length, the rolled metal blank (type, pipe, product, etc.) is dragged through the die hole. They are mostly employed in cold processing.
4. Extrusion is a processing technique that involves placing metal in a closed extrusion box and applying pressure at one end to cause the metal to extrude through the designated die hole to produce an identical-sized and-shaped final product. It is mostly used for the production of non-ferrous metals material steel.
